development resources. Our Knowledge Base is made up of two sites: an Administrative site (KB Admin) and a Client site (KB Client). The KB Admin site allows Knowledge Base Administrators to create and manage articles,
define hierarchy categories for organizing Knowledge Base articles, and
provide answers to end-user questions. The KB Client Site allows users to search
the Knowledge Base for articles, browse through articles via tree navigation, view a list of the most popular
and recently added articles, submit ratings/feedback/questions, and print
or e-mail articles.

flexible, scalable, and affordable Knowledge Base that is both simple to

The KB Admin site offers the following administrative features:
Create and manage all knowledge base articles from one location.
Upload images into article content directly without having to create a Picture Library to upload images before you can use them in your articles.
Content approval of new articles so only reviewed content is published to your end users.
Manage and answer questions submitted by end users. Post answers internally for other Knowledge Base Administrators to see as well as e-mail the answer to the user who posted the question.
Create categories for organizing your knowledge base content.
Display list of recently added/updated articles as well as most popular articles.
Configure search criteria to locate articles and view their status.
Right-click the category tree to create, edit or delete categories. New!

The KB Client site offers the following end user features:

Print articles as well as e-mail articles several recipients as needed.
Search all knowledge base articles using multiple search criteria, including age of article.
Quickly view a list of articles just added to the knowledge base or the top 5 most popular articles.
Use a tree to navigate knowledge base content by category.
Set up the KB Client site for anonymous access.
Set up KB Client sites on separate site collections (from the KB Admin site) within the same server.

KB Admin Site
Use the navigation side bar to answer user questions, manage article pictures, create and manage articles, and create and manage knowledge base categories.
Knowledge Base Administration Home - Locate articles using the tree, the Most Popular Articles box, the Latest Additions box or the All Articles box. You can create, edit or delete categories directly from the tree by right-clicking on a category. The All Articles box shows all articles for the selected category. If no category is selected (which is the default), then all articles are displayed in the All Articles box.
Category Control - Create and manage categories such as Release Notes, Announcements, FAQs, etc. to assign when creating articles. These categories make up the tree that is displayed on the home page of the Bamboo KB Admin site and the KB Client site. Displaying the tree, Most Popular Articles box and Latest Additions box on the Home page are all options you can configure in the Bamboo KB Tree View Web Part on the Home page.
Article Control - Locate articles by searching by the age of the article and/or any column from the Bamboo KB Articles list. The Bamboo KB Search Web Part used for this search capability is configurable including options to print search results and display the search results along with the search criteria. Create new articles using the Create New Article link in the Quick Launch bar. Relate other articles to the article you are creating, set the status, associate the article with a Knowledge Base category, and format your article using an enhanced rich text editor that allows you to upload and insert images directly into your article content without having to first upload the picture to a SharePoint picture library.
Pending Questions - Answer questions submitted by end users from the Bamboo KB Client site. You can post other questions and answers to other Administrators or you can send the answer directly to the user at the same time that you post internally. This board is internal and is not posted on the Bamboo KB Client site. This feature allows you to determine whether a Knowledge Base article is needed so you can publish one under a controlled fashion.
Pictures - Manage all pictures used in your articles or on your site in the Bamboo KB Picture Library. This library stores images uploaded during article creation. Images can be directly inserted into the article content without first having to upload the to a SharePoint library.
Comment Control - Determine which comments are published to the KB client site. Search for and edit ratings and comments submitted by KB client end users about KB articles.
KB Client Site
Search for content using tree navigation, a most popular articles list, articles recently added to the Knowledge Base, all articles in the KB, or perform a content search using preconfigured search criteria fields. Users can print or e-mail articles as well as submit questions to Knowledge Base Administrators, rate and submit comments on articles.
Choose from two KB Client templates: one based on the Team Site template and the other based on the Meeting Workspace template.
Create your KB Client site on the same or separate Site Collection (as long as the application pool user is the same for each Site Collection). You can also set up your KB Client site for anonymous access allowing you to offer your Knowledge Base to any potential customer.

Support for Windows Server 2008? (2 replies) - Just reading the specs for the KB solution accelerator and it states that the O/S is windows server 2003.
