The Bamboo User Management Solution Accelerator provides administrators with a user-friendly, SharePoint-based application to maintain and organize user access security information across a SharePoint environment. Keep large quantities of user information from becoming unwieldy, streamline the management of user accounts and SharePoint group control, and secure data integrity. Create, modify or remove both users and groups from a single interface. Create users with multiple group access instead of having to do it one group at a time. Clone existing users, matching security access to new users in a single step. The tree-based navigation provides for flexible user viewing options through name, organization and site drill down. The SharePoint group display capability alleviates the tedious task of looking into each group to see if a particular user has membership.

How Does It Work?

The back-end services handle communication with SharePoint and LDAP compliant user account stores. Designed as a solution for your entire web farm, it is able to communicate with and display information from Active Directory, SQL-based authentication stores and other LDAP compliant stores simultaneously. The interface for this display comes in the form of a Web Part that can be placed directly on your SharePoint site. This allows for shared access and security controlled by SharePoint. The Web Part user interface aggregates users, sites and list information and presents it in a tree view that contains alphabetical, organizational and site based hierarchies.

Why Did We Build It?

User Management Solution Accelerator was designed to address the IT Administrator's challenge of managing user access across multiple sites, lists and subscriptions throughout the environment. To help manage multiple Web Applications, sites, and authentication servers, the User Management Solution Accelerator offers a simple visual overview to quickly assess a variety of configurations and manage a multitude of users, simplifying the complex provisioning of a SharePoint environment. The User Management Solution Accelerator provides the administrator with quick answers to the following questions:

• User "John Doe" has access to what?
• Who has access to which sites?
• John just moved to a new group. Which new permissions should I give him and which ones should be taken away?
