While SharePoint provides some basic workflow capabilities out-of-the-box, automating more than the simplest processes usually requires extensive development work, and even more extensive work to maintain as processes change over time. On top of that, communicating the existing processes between developers and the business users that use them often creates a cycle of revisions that can extend development time. As a result, implementing the very items that are intended to save time and money can often cost an awful lot of both.

Bamboo's Workflow Conductor provides a simple, yet powerful way to let the users who best know the existing processes create workflows that automate those business functions. Designing workflows in Conductor is a simple drag-and-drop experience which lets users create workflows that range from short and simple to large and complex, whichever suits the process at hand. Conductor even allows users to save workflows as templates that can then be reused across the farm.

In addition to workflow creation, Conductor provides centralized workflow management, with simple workflow reporting and customized workflow Web Parts for end users. Administrators can decide where workflows can be created using Conductor, and what functions users can enable through their workflows.

Workflow Conductor provides a complete solution for the simple creation and management of custom workflows within SharePoint. It provides an integrated interface that enhances the native workflow capabilities of SharePoint, and lets end-users easily create custom workflows without coding. It also provides the ability to reuse, view, and manage workflows across an entire SharePoint farm. Workflows built using Workflow Conductor can be used to automate both simple and complex business processes. These workflows can interact with information stored within SharePoint, as well as data stored in external sources.

Workflow Conductor leverages Microsoft's Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) architecture to ensure that the workflows created by it integrate fully with SharePoint's native capabilities. This includes a .NET based workflow creation and management interface, as well as multiple Web Parts and features that allow for simple management and reporting of workflows across a SharePoint farm. Workflows created with Workflow Conductor are published directly from the designer UI, and are deployed as new features that are automatically activated and associated with targeted lists and libraries.

Workflow Conductor is comprised of several components:

Component	Description
Workflow Conductor Studio	Conductor Studio is a .NET based workflow design tool with a drag-and-drop UI that lets users create custom workflows. Users can publish workflows directly from the UI, and even save workflows as templates that can be reused across the farm. Workflows created with Workflow Conductor are deployed as new features using WSPs, and are automatically activated for a site collection, and associated with targeted lists and libraries.
Workflow Conductor Widgets	Widgets (aka "Activities" as they are known in WF) are configurable bits of code snippets that are presented as simple drag-and-drop objects within the Workflow Conductor Studio. These bits of code are then executed in the user-defined order when a workflow is run. Most widget settings can use "lookups" that gather values at runtime to determine how a workflow behaves.
Workflow Conductor Control Panel	This is an administrative configuration area located in Central Administration that provides global settings for Conductor, as well as a view of all workflows running across the installed Web Apps.
Workflow Conductor Web Parts	Workflow Conductor includes Web Parts for workflow reports that can range from a single site to an entire farm, displaying the status of the current user's workflows, and displaying the current user's workflow tasks.
Miscellaneous Features	Workflow Conductor also includes several features that integrate with, and enhance, the native workflow capabilities in SharePoint. These range from contextual menu items to enhanced workflow status and management pages.

Upgrading Product Support:
All Bamboo products sold include 1-year of free Basic Support. Basic Support provides you with access to our support team via the MyBamboo support portal and free minor upgrades for 1-year. You may choose to upgrade to our Premium Support plan which provides additional benefits such as: faster response times, unlimited incidents, call-back phone support and remote assistance (when necessary). Premium Support also includes free access to all major and minor product upgrades for a period of 1-year. All support plans include unlimited access to online documentation, Bamboo's extensive Knowledge Base, and our community forums.

To upgrade to Premium Support, add the Premium Support option to your Shopping Cart prior to Checkout. The number of Premium Support units purchased will automatically be incremented to match the number of Server Licenses you are requesting. Premium Support upgrades can only be facilitated through the Storefront at the time the software licenses are purchased. Please use the MyBamboo support portal to upgrade your support plan after this time.
