Active Directory, NT Directory and SQL Membership users can reset their password by either e-mail confirmation or by answering predefined security questions
With importance of login security growing and password requirements increasing, it is becoming easier for users to forget their new passwords. With the Bamboo Password Reset Web Part, users now have the ability to submit their own password reset requests through SharePoint, no longer requiring IT Administrations assistance. With two types of ID verification available, users can reset their password by e-mail confirmation or by answering predefined security questions (Active Directory accounts only).
Today, SharePoint administrators spend a significant amount of time handling user requests for resetting their passwords when users either forget their password and/or lock themselves out of the system. Administrators have to reset the user's password in Active Directory, NT Directory or SQL Membership Provider and then contact the user with a new temporary password to enable the user to log in. While these requests do not take up too much time individually, collectively they can be time consuming and tedious compared to the everyday tasks that need to be completed to ensure your network is running efficiently. The Password Reset Web Part alleviates site administrator workload associated with maintaining/resetting passwords allowing administrators to focus on other high priority tasks.
Password Reset Web Part is just part of a larger story, a true password management solution. With a complete password management solution, corporations can add another essential layer of security to their growing and often confidential SharePoint environments. Now IT Administrators can enforce a full fledge password policy, including routine password expiration without the fear of overhead costs to maintain. With the Bamboo Password Management Toolkit, users get the power of not just Password Change Web Part, but also Password Expiration Web Part and Password Reset Web Part.
