R2.1

Limitations:

  • Before importing to Record Library, users need uncheck the automatically declared items as records option. Import files to record library first then declare them as records later as needed. This only works in the wizard mode. This is not working in the schedule task mode yet. Resolved in Release 2.1.47
  • Unable to preserve the original created date of the source list. Sorting for the items of the target list is based on the newly Created Dated of the items. Resolved in Release 2.5.100
  • Unable to preserve the original Created By of the source list. Created By column is updated by the credential of the user who runs the Bulk Import. Resolved in Release 2.5.100
  • The "Check for Record Duplication" and "Skip duplicate records" options will not work and show that data is duplicated. Resolved in Release 2.5.100
  • Only current versions of items are imported.  This includes Multiple Lines of Text with Append Changes to Existing Text enabled.
  • If Excel is the source file, the architecture (i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit) of Excel must match the Operating System's architecture where List Bulk Import is running.
  • Unable to connect to Web Applications running Form Based Authentication (WSS v3/MOSS 2007) or Claims Based Authentication (SharePoint Foundation 2010/SharePoint Server 2010).Resolved in Release 2.5.100
R2.0

Limitations:

  • Only current versions of items are imported.  This includes Multiple Lines of Text with Append Changes to Existing Text enabled.
  • List Bulk  Import 64-bit edition only supports Excel 2010. Work around is to save Excel file in CSV format and import the CSV.
  • Importing from SharePoint v2 is no longer supported.
  • Does not support Bamboo Solutions' products Column Level Security and Bamboo Video Library.
R1.9 See R1.8.22.
R1.8.22

Limitations:

  • List Bulk Import does not work for Excel mode on the 64-bit machine. The work around is to save the file with .csv extension and import.
R1.7.88

Limitations:

  • This release does support Windows Vista 64-bit and Windows Server 2008.
R1.7.51 None
R1.3-1.6

Known Issues:

  • When importing versions of all List or Document Library types, some columns are not imported. These columns are: author, original creation date, modified by and modified date. Only the file or item itself is imported. Each item or file imported has the same creation and modified date.  (Issue mitigated in R1.5 through the ability to map these reserved fields to other columns.)
R1.2-1.6

Known Issues:

  • The import program does not run correctly if the Excel file used as the import source file is open when the Bulk Import application runs. It will skip all records and show invalid dates for date columns. Make sure you close the Excel file before you start the Bulk Import application.
  • The import log file is stored in a \Log folder created beneath the List Bulk Import installation directory. The user account that runs the import program needs to have write permission to this folder.
  • If you import very large number of records, it is best to import as an .xls file. Processing of a large import file that is NOT an .xls file takes longer (several minutes).
  • On SPS 2003 and WSS v2, if you are importing to an Image Library with custom fields that need to be updated during the import, you need to download the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services post-Service Pack 2 Hotfix package. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913402 for more information about this issue and how to download this hotfix.
  • On SPS 2003 and WSS v2, if you update the Picture Library custom fields without the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services post-Service Pack 2 Hotfix package, you will see this error in the log file: “"0x80070057 Bad parameter passed to Web Server Extension. Check the information you entered and try again”. You can still import to an Image Library without the hotfix by selecting only the “Name” column and matching it with the file path column.
