  • Adjust column width on demand.
  • Set the date where you want the Gantt view to start, e.g. set the Gantt view to display starting Today or a specific date.
  • Previous business logic was that if Percent Complete is more than 0%, the status automatically changed to In Progress when users click the Recalculate button. If Percent Complete is 100%, the status automatically changed to Completed when users click the Recalculate button. Additional logic has been added where the status will not change based on Percent Complete if the status is Deferred or Waiting on Someone Else.
  • Sample scripts for manual installation/uninstallation are provided in the product extraction folder's \misc folder.

Resolved Customer-Reported bugs and Known Issues/Limitations:

  • The Task Summary's status does not change when the subtask's status changed, e.g. the subtask’s % Complete and status change from 0% and Not Started to 5% and In Progress. The Task Summary’s % Complete changes. However, the Task Summary’s status remains as Not Started.
  • The Recalculate button does not update all items in 1 click when Task Summaries have several tasks and when there are dependencies between the Task Summaries.
  • When Working Hours mode is changed in the tool pane to None, the Start Date and Due Date are different after clicking on the Recalculate button 2 times.
  • The font color of the items in the grid changes after clicking on the Recalculate button. Press F5 and the color will go back to normal per the tool pane’s settings.
  • After moving to another page and coming back to the page, Task Master collapses all items even though "Automatically Expand Level" is set to expand by default in the tool pane.
  • If the task has a Task Summary and child tasks where one of the child tasks is outside of the Gantt interval scale, users are required to click two times to expand the tasks that are outside of the scale.
  • After upgrading from an older version to R2.5, when adding a new task in the grid, Task Master will display a JavaScript error. Users are required to refresh the page the first time via Control + F5 for the error to go away.
  • If the options to use Save and Refresh are turned on, after clicking the Save button, the Filters drop-down list will not display any options. Users need to refresh the browser using the option Control + F5.
  • When upgrading from R2.0 to R2.5, the existing task items will keep their value for the Work and Duration columns. Users are not required to click on the Recalculate button. But if users are upgrading from R1.7 to R2.5, if the Work and Duration have 0 value, users are required to click on the Recalculate button.
  • When Task Master is first installed or new items are first added, even if the tool pane is set to "Automatically Expand Level as (blank)", the items will be collapsed. Users are required to edit the tool pane and click Apply and OK again.
  • When Task Master is not set to expand and users expand certain task summaries, if they go to another site and come back, this information is not cached in the browser, and all the items will be displayed as collapsed.
  • The Gantt view will display in the grid view if users click on the Gantt view.
  • Task items do not expand the first time when users click on the + sign.
  • If the Gantt view is set to Day View and a task item's Due Date is later than the current day, the browser window will expand wider than the actual page.
  • Missing Image tag appears at the bottom of the Gantt view for a certain view/time scale.

  • The decimal of Assignment Unit, %Complete, %Work Complete on UI is different with Item View when setting "Number of decimal places" of those column to "Automatic".
  • When adding two Web Part to the site, this Web Part's Site Theme option is applied to another one that is not enable site theme.
  • When inserting a new item, the default value of start date is set by virtual server's date time instead of Client's date time.
  • When task is created but have no input/update for Percent Complete of task so when user click Recalculate to finish the input/update action, the Assignment Unit is not set to 100%, Duration is not count, Work is not calculated. This is different with Task Master version 3.0, Assignment Unit value is default set to 100%, Duration and Work are sum up.
  • Clicking Save button is needed after every time dragging and dropping a task. Task Master does not support drag/ drop over two times.
  • If the parent task has a predecessor and the parent task is a milestone, the Start Date of the parent task and the child task change based on the predecessor's Due Date. For example, the working hours is set from 8:00 - 5:00 PM and the Start Date for the parent task and child task is 09/18/2013 8:00 AM. If the predecessor's Due Date is 09/18/2013 5:00PM, the Start Date and Due Date for the parent and child task are now changed to 09/19/2013 8:00 AM.
  • The pop-up form for the Assigned To and Assignment Units moves outside of the display when scroll the browser window using the scroll bar.
  • Show JavaScript error when editing resource in inline editing. After changing the Assignment Units (such as from 100 to 90), users are required to click Enter before clicking OK.
  • In the inline editing, if the pop-up form for the Assigned To and Assignment Units is display pass the right of the Task Master display then the percent value for the Assignment Units column cannot be filled.
  • The Web Part sometimes displays the SharePoint error message "An unexpected error has occurred." Refresh the page using Control + F5 to clear it.
  • If the summary task has a predecessor, the start date of a child task will not change based on the due date of the parent task predecessor if the child task has a constraint.
  • Gantt bars are not displayed in the Print Preview. The Gantt bars print correctly.
  • If a selected summary task is collapsed when you click Show Items, child tasks are not displayed in the filtered view.
  • When a task spans multiple days and includes time outside working hours, the task duration bar in the Gantt chart is longer than a task with the same duration that does not include time outside working hours.

Limitations:

  • Print option is not available in Task Master 4.0. Bamboo recommends using the keyboard Print Screen option as an alternative.
  • Can’t drag and drop the parent task. This is a limitation of TreeGrid control.

  • The % Complete for summary tasks is not updated in the Gantt chart the first time you click Recalculate. To see the correct value, refresh the browser using Control + F5 or click Recalculate again.
  • When Task Master is configured to automatically save changes made to the task list, the Gantt chart may display the wrong % Complete for a task the first time you click Recalculate. Click Recalculate again to see the correct value.

  • If the Bamboo List Search Web Part is added to the same page as a Task Master Web Part, attempting to edit the List Search Web Part properties results in an Internet Explorer error message: "Internet Explorer has stopped working."
  • If the "Maximum Unit" field is displayed in the Web Part and you add a task using the Insert Task feature, the value of the field will be set to 0% instead of 100% (100% is the default when you add a task using the New Item form). When you assign a resource to the task using the Resource field, the Maximum Unit value will be updated correctly.
  • If Task Master is configured to exclude certain days, such as weekends, and the task Start Date and Due Date fall on an excluded date, Task Master will compute that task as a milestone.
  • If the Gantt chart color coding is assigned based on the "Schedule Status" column and your inline-edit of a task results in a change to the value of that column, you must refresh the browser to see the new color in the Gantt chart.
  • To use the same color for all milestone tasks, you must first select a Choice column and then select the same color for all choices.
  • Users cannot add the Web Part into a rich content zone on team sites.
  • When printing data from Task Master, the printed version does not use the same colors as the Web Part.
  • When the data set in the task list spans several years, the Print option will not display all items in the Gantt view. Limit the dates displayed in the Gantt chart using the Gantt View Display Settings in the tool pane, or zoom out until all items in the Gantt chart can be viewed without scroll bars before printing.
  • If you make several view changes quickly and then edit a task using the Edit Item form, Task Master may not accurately set the focus back to the item you were editing when you save it and return to the Task Master Web Part.
  • When using the Print feature, clicking Cancel in the Print Settings dialog box also cancels the Print Preview.
  • Drag-and-drop functionality in the Gantt chart is limited to dragging a task item to change its schedule and duration.

  • If the Task List has about 1,000+ items, users will see a timeout when they click Recalculate in PM Central R2.1 (SA12). Users need to upgrade to the latest Visual Indicator Column (HW41D). The patch is scheduled for the June/July 2011 timeframe.
  • The date of the parent items in the grid are shown as bold font when changing the date of a child item then clicking on the Recalculate button and the Save button. It will not be refreshed until the Web Part is refreshed in a new instance of the browser.

  • The printout does not show the same color as in the Task Master UI/legends.
  • When the data set shown in Task Master spans across several years, the Print option will not show all items in the Gantt view. Users should use the "filtered date” option in the tool pane to filter to a smaller data set. Or, zoom out to show all items in the Gantt view without using scroll bar before printing.
  • If users carry several changes, such as reconfiguring the scale for the Gantt view, editing the form of a task item, and dragging the scroll bar to line item 200, Task Master does not remember which line item that the users were at.
  • After clicking Print from the Task Master toolbar, pressing Cancel in the Print Settings dialog box also cancels the Print Preview.
