SYMPTOM:
During installation or upgrade of a product into SharePoint, an error results such as this example: "Access to the path 'C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp\2\tmp6.tmp' is denied."
CAUSE:
The installation of our Web Parts and features into SharePoint applies Code Access Security permissions to the Policy file used by the Web applications that are being installed on. If the Policy file used by any of the Web applications is Read-only, then this error will result.
RESOLUTION:
Please uncheck the Read-only attribute on the Policy file, reset IIS, and then retry the installation.
