SharePoint Project Management Central R1.5 or newer is bundled with the Bamboo Microsoft Project Add-In. This add-in lets you import and export tasks between your PM Central projects and MS Project 2007. You must install the add-in on an environment that already has Microsoft Project, .NET 3.5 and Visual Studio Tools for the Office system 3.0 Runtime installed. The add-in is only compatible with MS Office Project 2007.

This article has three sections:
A. Exporting From the Cost View, Tracking View or Scheduling View to MS Project
The Tasks tab in each project has several list views. You can export the Cost View, Tracking View or Scheduling View to MS Project using the Bamboo MS Project Add-In. These list views use the Bamboo Data-Viewer Web Part to display the data.
To export one of the list views:
1. Click the tab of the list view you want to export, for example, the Tracking View. At the bottom of the page, click Export to MS Project.
2. The source fields are automatically populated from the tasks list. You need to manually map the source fields to the destination fields.
Use the table below to map your source fields. Only the fields listed in the table can be mapped to export data.
Note: For the Task Summary and Predecessor Task fields, map to OutlineParent and PredecessorTask as shown in the table. Due to the limitation of the Task Master Web Part, only one predecessor can be selected per task item. Constraints with lag time such as +3days are not supported in this version. Please note that currently, the Bamboo MS Project Add-In cannot "sync." Therefore, if you export the tasks out, make changes in MS Project and import them back in, they will be created as new records. Since Bamboo's Tasks list is using Custom Column for Cost, Actual Cost and Remaining Cost, you can only map Cost (Enter), Actual Cost (Enter) and Remaining Cost (Enter) to MS Project’s Cost, Actual Cost and Remaining Cost. The values that you import in will overwrite the values in the custom columns.
3. Click Next to review the data. Use the Back button to make changes. Click Export.
4. The data is created as an xml file. Click Save to save the file to your local drive.
5. In the Save As screen, you can give the file a more specific name.
6. Use MS Project 2007 to open the xml file. Make sure you select xml as the file format.
7. The Import Wizard window is displayed. Choose how you want to import the file, then click Finish.
8. When the schedule is imported successfully, save the project schedule as an mpp file.
Exporting From the Portfolio Site's Project Tasks List to MS Project
1. Navigate to the portfolio site and click the Schedules tab. Scroll down to the Project Tasks list and click Export To MS Project.
2. Follow steps 2-8 from Section A above to export.
C. Exporting From the Bamboo MS Office Project Integration Web Part Page
If the Cost View, Scheduling View and Tracking View do not include all the fields you want to export to MS Project, you can add additional fields by exporting from the Bamboo MS Office Project Integration Web Part page.
1. Go to the page that contains the list view you want to export, such as the project site's Tasks tab. Click the list view you want to export, such as the Tracking View. Select Site Actions > Edit Page.
2. Click Add a Web Part, then select the Bamboo MS Office Project Integration Web Part:
3. After the Web Part is installed on the page, enter the path where the file is located. Click on the green arrow. Select the file from the SharePoint Task List field. Click OK.

4. Follow steps 2-8 from Section A above to export the data to MS Project.
