This article presents an overview of the Bamboo Solutions Password Change Web Part.  The Password Change Web Part allows ADS users or local NT users to change their own passwords in the SharePoint portal site, without site administrator intervention or IIS expiration pages.

Note that this information applies to version 3.0 or above of the Password Change Web Part.

Web Part Settings:

The Password Change Web Part can be customized with the following settings:

• Restrict users to change passwords within a specific domain only. This feature allows hosting companies or the central IT to enforce further security restrictions on multi-domain environments.
• IT Administrator can supply a text message to let users know the required password parameters, such as password lengths, special characters, etc.

Usage:

The Password Change Web Part allows the users to enter a domain name, user account name, old password and new password.
