  • In the alert item CAML filter, decimal values are now supported when using the addValue tag with "Today". For example: <Value Type="DateTime" IncludeTimeValue=”TRUE”><Today /><addValue value="0.0208" /></Value> will be true if the item is overdue by 30 minutes.

Resolved Customer-Reported Bugs and Known Issues/Limitations:

  • When using a View filter for alerting on Document Libraries, certain views will not include the full path for FolderPathName in the email message body.

  • If the URL of the alert list contains a hyphen (-), Alert Plus will return an error that the site cannot be found. To resolve this issue, copy the existing alert job and delete the original alert job.
  • If the currently logged-in user has an internal ID of 32678 or greater and the Recipient tab is configured with the "Send to me" option, an error message is displayed.
  • Custom column types that inherit the People and Group column type are not displayed in the alert message body.
  • No data is displayed for Bamboo Lookup Selector columns in the alert message body if "Allow multiple values" is enabled in the Bamboo Lookup Selector settings.
  • If the user included a Multiple Lines of Text column in the message body and it included a line break, the symbol  is displayed for each line break.
  • In certain cases when the option "Combine multiple alerts into summary notification" is selected, the alert job may not start because the Timer Job was not created.
  • Incorrect alert items may be returned from alert list when filtering by date if the alert list is a List Rollup Schema. To resolve this issue, upgrade to List Rollup version 5.0.134 or higher.

  • Alerts are not sent for documents if the Document Library option "Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited?" is set to "Yes". Workaround: Create an "item exists" alert on the document library. Enter the CAML statement Created = [Today]. Set Follow-up Wait Days to 1 or 2.
  • E-mail is not sent for "item created" alerts on a document library if the CAML query is checking a Date and Time column in the library.
  • If an alert is created on a "My Tasks" view, the Last Run Status will dsiplay the following error: "Input string was not in a correct format." This is because the view query is based on a user ID that is not available when Alert Plus runs.
  • Alerts for items in an InfoPath Form Library selected using a CAML query may fail in some cases.

Limitations:

  • In certain cases, Outlook will prompt for a login if the alert message contains images from a SharePoint Picture Library.

  • Alert Plus supports alerts on recurring items in a Calendar list. However, if the series is modified and a user has an "item modified" alert on the recurring item, the user will get an alert for each item in the series.
  • When selecting alert recipients using the "Lookup an E-mail Address in another List (Advanced)" option, the columns linking the lookup list to the alert list must be the same data type.
  • Column display names are no longer supported in CAML queries for alerts on List Rollup Schemas. Use the "Upgrade Alert Plus" tab in the Alert Plus Utilities to fix existing List Rollup Schema alerts that use display names in CAML queries.
  • Some custom schedules from previous Alert Plus versions are not fully supported in Alert Plus 3.1. See "Upgrading Alert Plus" in the Online Documentation for more information.

  • Outlook clients cannot view images included in an Alert Plus e-mail body using Image Manager or the <IMG> tag if viewing the image link requires authentication.
R3.0.76 Known Issues:
  • Alerts are not sent for documents if the Document Library option "Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited?" is set to "Yes". Workaround: Create an "item exists" alert on the document library. Enter the CAML statement Created = [Today]. Set follow-up days to 1 or 2.
  • E-mail is not sent for "item created" alerts on a document library if the CAML query is checking a Date and Time column in the library.
  • If an alert is created on a "My Tasks" view, the Last Run Status will display the following error: "Input string was not in a correct format." This is because the view query is based on a user ID that is not available when Alert Plus runs.
Limitations:
  • Outlook clients cannot view images included in an Alert Plus e-mail body using Image Manager or the <IMG> tag if viewing the image link requires authentication.
  • Alert Plus supports alerts on recurring items in a Calendar list. However, if the series is modified and a user has an "item modified" alert on the recurring item, the user will get an alert for each item in the series.

  • No e-mail is send when create new column - Create new column with "Date and Time" type (Date only) for Shared Documents list.
  • Last Run Status --> see error "Input string was not in a correct format" when triggers the alert: "An item in the list is created" for My Task View. The query is based on the userid, and since when alert plus is running no user is logged in, the query will not work.
  • Alert on recurring item in a calendar list will not send out emails.
